Packaged
in an elegant, titanium alloy body, the DC4800 looks, feels and
acts a lot like its film-exposing cousins. Its small size and lightweight
makes it a perfect companion for travel photography.
The
auto-focus DC4800 takes high-resolution (3.1 megapixel) pictures.
It features a 3X optical zoom lens (28 to 84-mm equivalent) with
an additional 2X digital zoom extender, and a minimum focus distance
of 12 inches. The photographer can vary the depth of a field or
match variable light levels by manually selecting among three aperture
settings-f2.8, f5.6 and f8-using a dial control.
Flash
functions include auto, fill and red-eye. The flash range extends
to 10 feet, and a flash-sync socket allows the use of an external
flash unit.
